On these pages we will be showing you some of the wonderful resources that are available at the library in Middlesbrough
They are arranged in a sequence which we consider most helpful to both beginners and those with experience in family history. You can of course dip in and out in the way that is most comfortable and useful to you. It is crucial to your success in using these resources that you talk to and exchange information with all those who are engaged in front line family history activities-librarians and archivists; members of the Cleveland Family History Society, Friends of Teesside Archives, and the Cleveland and Teesside Local History Society (you can join any or all of these societies); local classes, self help or user groups in family history where the members support and encourage each other (one such group, the Hemlington Family History Club, meets every Thursday afternoon in the Middlesbrough Reference Library).
