In May 2005, the Middlesbrough Reference Library acquired on microfiche a complete set of the GRO Overseas Indexes of Births, Marriages and Deaths.

These include War deaths, Regimental Records and Marine and Air records,as well as births, deaths and marriages recorded by HM Forces, British Consuls and High Commissions around the world.A detailed list of holdings is given below.
