| 08-OCT-2003 02:58 Ellen Nice pictures. Like we are there with you. In Pix we can travel the world. Thank you and I welcome fall. |
My (messy) office - it's raining outside today. |
| ::::waving to Steve::::: |
working from home today. I usually work on my PC in my recording
studio but it's dark and gloomy in there so I ran a network cable into the
conservatory. I'll make this a permanent feature cos my wife is buying a
new PC that looks a bit closer to furniture and it's nicer to network and
do stuff in the living quarters rather than tucked away in a bedroom.
|
| Nice room~ If I had a room like that I'd be there too. |
| I'm working from home again today. (till 3pm)I mentioned my studio
yesterday. I'm in there now as I've not set up the laptop yet. Here's a
pic of the studio. That mixing desk is going soon and I'm going to refurb
the studio generally, need more light. More details here http:/caucus/music/166:127

| Messing around with ebay as a newbie. Needed something fairly
inconsequential to practice selling.
|
OK you expensive, gas guzzling, unreliable beast. That's your last car
wash from me. You're history! |
| It's a Peugot?!! Thanks for taking us to England with you.
England you are, right? Anyway, sure beats flying planes, our Pix!
Please more and more and more. |
| Yes I'm in England and yes it's a Peugot. They have a very good name but mine proved to be a dog. To much electronics. It just kept going wrong. |
It's kinda hard to describe my job. I'm at the University Of Teesside
and I'm involved in all kinds of creative ICT and outreach. One of the
places I go is Whitby. Whitby is a mite off my patch but I go cos I
love it. See the Abbey in the shot below. That's the hilltop haunt of
Dracula. Here is a Christmas view of the abbey http://www.tvco.org.uk/longrope2/abbey.htm There are
some better shots of Whitby from an earlier visit http://www.tvco.org.uk/longrope2/ |
| Steve - do you know Steve Lacy? He's got a job that sounds exactly like the one you have. He's my wife's cousin. |
| Rob - no I don't know Steve Lacy
The pic below was shot from the car as I drove to work this morning.

HM Bark Endeavour sails into Middlesbrough
|
| STUNNING! Steve, would it be possible to get a larger version of that?
I would LOVE to use it for a desktop. l |
| sent it:- it's a big attachment |
| Thank you, Steve! |
| Steve, is that a blue bridge behind the ship? |
| Yes, it's called the transporter bridge. It was opened on the 17th October, 1911 by Prince Arthur of Connaught meaning that it has it's 92nd birthday today. It is high so ships can pass beneath it, though these days not many do (The Edeavour sailed under it today to mark the birthday) Traffic and people cross the river on a suspended cradle. I have been across. The other side shows signs of deprivation. I'll go again soon and upload a picture. It's always hard to pick just one picture. I'm told in the old days it cost two (UK) pennies to cross the river but for one penny you could climb the tower and walk across and down the other side. There were thousands of ant like men crossing on a morning to go to work in the steel mills. Nowadays you can only climb up one side |

| Went to visit my folks today. Must confess I rarely go. That's my new
car. I let my dad have a test drive; we're both automatic gear shift fans.
He had a look under the hood and pronounced it OK. They then went off to
watch Sunderland football club. He is a lifelong fan and has the seat he
sat on from the old stadium. They got relegated from from the premiere division last season but they're doing good now. My mother just took up
water colour painting and she is really good. They both think I am really
cool but they would never use nor understand the term.
|
| You look like both of them! |
