Stargirl By Jerry Spinelli is a book about an eccentric girl who dares to be different and how she influences an ordinary boy.

    [More:]

Leo Borlock is a normal boy who likes being normal, he does as little as possible to attract peoples attention. But then stargirl comes along. No-one knows what she is called all they know is that she is called Stargirl and is definitely not normal.

She sings happy birthday to people on a Ukilelee and has a pet ferret that she takes for walks and takes to school - not normal behavior. She then takes a shine to Leo who does not welcome her interest. But as they begin to get closer he realises that she is not wierd but extremely kind, generous and truly amazing. Then all of a sudden things change dramatically.

This is a really good book about getting to know a person before judging them. It is full brilliance and I give this book a 9 and a half out of ten. But don't worry if this is not the book for you.

    Keep looking..x
