In Skininningrove we were looking for objects to enhance the village.

We heard of an anchor stuck out at sea for over 100 years. This was all part of local legend. Apparently a ship named the Steam Ship Sylvana lost it's propeller off Whitby and came ashore here off Sklinningrove at Cattersty Beach in 1901. It was stranded here for six months

The Sylvania pictured here (click for full size image) ended it's life in 1904 when it was sunk during the Russian/Japanese conflict.
